Clarner Woodworks works with a variety of high-quality wood types when producing its entry hall tables and consoles, from traditional choices such as maple, walnut, cherry, mahogany, oak, and birch, to eye-catching varieties with more figure, like birdseye maple, ribbon mahogany, curly maple (also known as tiger maple), flame birch, myrtle and tap maple. We also use environmentally friendly reclaimed wood like our Rheingold Vat Wood which is a selection of old growth cypress and redwood reclaimed from a 100+ year old historic building in Brooklyn, New York.

Our Redwood Hall Table is built from two highly desirable woods for quality handcrafted furniture: reclaimed Redwood from our Rheingold Vat Wood collection and Cherry. Cherry is a traditional favorite which has been used in furniture making in the United States since colonial times. Cherry wood is moderately hard, strong, and close-grained with a high resistance to warping. Its light to reddish brown color deepens with age and exposure to sunlight. Our reclaimed old growth Redwood is a recycled wood with historical origins. Reclaimed from the 1800's Rheingold Beer Factory in Brooklyn, NY, this wood has a tight grain, lovely patina, and a unique source with historical interest (and a good story!). It's environmentally friendly nature as an antique recycled wood adds to its appeal.
